Held the Biodiversity Forum as a commemorative event on Monday, October 12 (a national holiday) in the year preceding COP 10 at the Nagoya Congress Center in Atsuta-ku, Nagoya, attracting about 2,500 participants.

Biodiversity Festival: a commemorative event in the year preceding COP 10

Held a Biodiversity Festival as a commemorative event on Saturday, October 10 and to Sunday, October 11 in the year preceding COP 10 at Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park in Nagakute, attracting nearly 20,000 visitors who enjoyed the pleasant weekend weather.

Held a symposium on the theme "Local Natural Environment and Biodiversity" to mark International Day for Biological Diversity in 2009 at Chuden-Hall in Nagoya on Friday, May 22.

Appointed two COP 10 PR Advisors to raise awareness of the significance of COP 10 and the importance of biodiversity while offering advice on the development of sustainable communities.

Aichi-Nagoya COP 10 CBD Promotion Committee to create sustainable communities, and methods to encourage various organizations to participate in COP 10 and engage in reciprocal cooperation.

Held a Biodiversity Symposium organized by the Aichi-Nagoya COP 10 CBD Promotion Committee on the theme of "Biodiversity in the Chita Region" at the Tokai City Hall on Wednesday, October 15 as a warm-up event for COP 10 to be held two years later in 2010.

Launched advertising for COP 10 Partnership Projects, which are initiatives and events to be staged before and during COP 10 by volunteers as partners of the Aichi-Nagoya COP 10 CBD Promotion Committee to help add momentum to the conference.

Established the Aichi-Nagoya COP 10 CBD Promotion Committee to support the operation of COP 10, promote the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, and accelerate the creation of sustainable communities.
