Design Approach "Spreading the Seed"

This combination mark depicts the "seed" of our hopes for adding momentum to the conservation and promotion of biodiversity in Nagoya for the year 2010 and beyond as the initiative spreads worldwide.
The symbol, which is designed in the image of a leaf and a flying bird, symbolizes life on earth. The seed-like shape also represents blessings for future generations. The combination of green and blue signifies our planet Earth as well as water, plants, and the sky, all of which contribute to biodiversity.

Designer Akio Ogawa

Mr. Ogawa, a graphic designer living in Nagoya, has crated a number of combination marks and brand designs.

Use of the Combination Mark

The Aichi-Nagoya COP 10 CBD Promotion Committee commissioned the International Design Center Nagoya, Inc. (IdcN) to create this combination mark. The Committee uses the combination mark for PR and other activities for COP 10.
